A doctor showed up in my Instagram feed this week with a new idea for healthy people: 160+ lab tests, plus an MRI every single year.
He calls it a “new standard.”
Here’s what he doesn’t mention in the ad: Mark Hyman is co-founder and chief medical officer of the company selling it.
That doesn’t make him wrong. But it does raise the obvious question.
Where’s the evidence?
In today’s short video, I go looking. I compare annual MRI screening with tests like colonoscopy, mammography and lung CT, and what it took for them to earn their place.
Then I ask a more personal question. My wife and I could spend about $2,500 a year on this. Or we could spend it somewhere else.
I know which one I’m choosing. ☀️
