Dr. Jami Dulaney was a plant-based cardiologist for roughly 25 years.

Then she became convinced she was developing insulin resistance and switched to a ketogenic diet.

About two and a half months later, she finally checked her labs.

A1C: 5.9

Fasting insulin: 4.9

LDL: 210

Her LDL had previously been about 80.

What interested me wasn’t simply that one number went up and another went down.

It was which numbers she decided mattered — and which ones she decided didn’t.

Because Dr. Dulaney says she isn’t worried about an LDL of 210 or cholesterol of 315.
