Ingredients:

2 cup split peas
1 chopped onion
2 chopped and pealed carrots
4 cups vegetable broth
4 cups water
Garlic powder
Basil
Parsley flakes

Instructions:

Add a splash of vegetable broth to a pot and saute’ onions in garlic powder, basil, and parsley flakes on high heat until onions are golden. Add a splash of water and stir so the onions don’t stick to the pot. Add carrots, split peas, vegetable broth, and water. Simmer on medium heat for 35-45 minutes occasionally stirring until very thick.
(Note: this is great served with cornbread.)
