How often do we have to debunk Dr. Michael Greger? Every time, it seems. Watch how Dr. Greger uses “science” to advance a bizarre nut agenda – it’s irresponsible.

Dr. Greger starts by saying that in his opinion nuts will do a better job of reversing heart disease, than the diets of Ornish, Esselstyn & Pritikin without nuts, or with very low nuts. So he presents his opinion, which is based on complete speculation. Then he presents the work of Fuhrman, and using a forceful and excited tone he creates the impression that Fuhrman has shown something important or meaningful having to do with a diet of nuts and heart disease, based on Fuhrman’s anonymous survey – but that’s false. By the time Greger acknowledges actual credible studies like Ornish and Esselstyn, he’s already undercut these researchers with his previous speculation and false statements. He can’t use his own experience either – he can’t say “My patients thrive on this and that” – because he doesn’t have any patients. His entire opinion is inspired by a Survey Monkey survey. It’s irresponsible, and it’s calculated because he’s trying to cloak himself in the mantel of science to give his opinions the appearance of more credibility.
