You’ve probably heard about the so-called Blue Zones — those magical places where people supposedly live to 100 and beyond. Sardinia, Ikaria, Costa Rica, Okinawa.
But are these stories real, or are they built on shaky records and wishful thinking?
In my latest video, I take a hard look at the evidence. Most Blue Zones aren’t based on science at all — they’re magazine features that never verified the ages of the people they celebrated.
Only one “zone,” Okinawa, has been studied scientifically for decades, with researchers actually checking birth records and family registries to confirm who really lived past 100. Even then, Japan’s own audits found thousands of centenarians who turned out to be long deceased.
