I don't think so. If you read page 141 of his book, he also appears to "out" Dr's Ornish, Esselstyn, and Campbell. He writes, "I've had the pleasure of knowing each of these doctors as a personal friend, and I know that each of them is lean and thriving on the plant-based whole-foods diets they expouse--diets which are strikingly similar to those on which the elder Okinawans, the Abkhasians, the Vilcabambans, and the Hunzans have long thrived. "I also know that each of these doctors consumes at least occasional small amounts of wild fish."
Thank you John Robbins!
I met a woman a couple of years ago who told me she was vegan for eleven years. "The first five years I was fine", she said, "but towards the end I became anemic." "I did everything I could do to keep from eating meat, but my body wouldn't absorb iron." "Finally I had to concede that I just couldn't function without some meat in my diet."
She now eats chicken and fish, but no dairy products. Being "O" blood-type, she bought into that "Eat Right For Your Type" garbage. I can't help but wonder, if she had included a small amount of wild salmon once or twice a month when she started out, would she now be consuming a much healthier diet, and living a more environmentally-friendly, animal-friendly life?
