I am 26 years old, and I discovered that I had diabetes
type one two years ago.
I started a raw vegan diet and I ate mainly vegetables and
sprouted beans and little portions of fruits. I wasn't
injecting insulin for like half a year that time, but I
felt really weak and I've lost my period. So after half a
year, I decided to start the 811 diet, and I started eating
only fruits through the days and salads in the evenings.
This is my diet until now. At the beginning I wasn't
injecting insulin at all, but by the time I started to
inject more and more. It started with like 3-4 units a day,
and today I inject like 20 units a day. I even don't know
how much I'm supposed to inject – I can eat the same meal
once and my sugar level won't exceed considerably and the
other day it will. I can't match the unit portions to the
carbs portions and I get to the state of hypoglycemia
really often. I also have a problem with the Lantus – I
just don't know how much to inject – sometimes I wake up
with high levels of sugar and sometimes with low. Recently,
I wake up with 150 sugar level and for example I ate 10
bananas and I injected 4 units, and after a few hours my
sugar level was 330. I don't exercise every week but when I
do, I run like 2 times a week.
Also, I have under-active thyroid and I was taking Eltroxin
since I was 15, but I stopped 3 years ago. Last December, I
did a blood test and the TSH got 8 and the triglycerides
got 220 while a year ago the TSH was 6.
BTW, I haven't eaten cooked food for like 2 years and the
only fat I eat is a half of Avocado a day. And I eat
organic green leaves and vegetables and sometimes I also
eat organic fruits.
I really don't know what to do anymore; I feel very
frustrated and exhausted.
What am I supposed to do?
yesterday I woke up with 150 sugar level and i ate 10
bananas fot lunch and i injected 8 units and after 4 hours
the sugar level was 318 its too much!!
