I do agree that we should be aware of the relationships between other minerals.

However in the case of the raw vegan diet and copper/zinc balance issue, its directly related to the excessive intake of copper and often low amount of zinc consumed by comparison.

This isn't a case of another problem elsewhere in the diet. Plenty people eat high potassium diets yet don't exhibit copper/zinc imbalances, plenty people are low in iron, selenium, iodine and other antagonistic minerals and again aren't copper toxic.

To be healthy and especially if your a male, you need to be zinc dominant. Unless you supplement there is really no way to balance zinc/copper levels on a strict raw vegan diet, which is why nearly 95% of vegans you come acrosss display copper toxicity symptoms.

Those eating cooked vegan foods such as beans, pulses, legumes stand a better chance because there richer in zinc, but even then these foods are typically have more copper to zinc, so yeah its not surprising so many vegans display symptoms of elevated copper.

Reading the living raw food support forum just gets more and more worrying each time, pretty much 90% of the members over there are completely detached from reality. Which is again a classic copper toxicity symptom.
