you keep bringing up sardines. I know a vegan lady who got convinced into eating sardines for the calcium in the bones and also for the protein. She was trying to heal faster from a hairline fracture. Soon after eating a daily can of sardines, her skin broke out in a rash in her arm. I told her I suspected the fish. She kept eating them. Finally her whole leg from the knee down got the rash. She finally stopped eating them. First of all, at her advanced age (~70), she needed hydrochloric acid to digest that meat and those bones, and that would require a supplement.

Then I just talked to another "vegan" who also has been eating sardines for awhile. She is battling a very inflammatory virus and colon condition. I tried explaining how to get rid of the virus and the first step is being vegan.

Even my Chinese colleague friend who is an ardent meat eater says that in Chinese medicine, a person battling skin problems must stay away from seafood and/or shellfish while they are trying to heal and taking herbs. Indeed all my Chinese teachers have taught this. Considering that most sardines come from a tin can, how can they be viewed as a healing food?
