"Ohh the same Dr. Esselstynís, who believes that total cholesterol is the biological marker for developing heart disease.

This is extremely out-dated 1980s research we are talking about here, we have known for a long time that cholesterol isn't the true culprit in the development of heart disease, which we now know is arterial inflammation. In fact even saturated fats aren't a true factor and they have being completely and unwarrantly villainized by vegan nutritionists.

Over 50% of heart attacks occur in individuals with low or normal cholesterol levels, that alone debunks the myth that total cholesterol is one of the prime biological markers for developing heart disease. "

Me:
Actually, the Bogalusa Heart Study is a 20-year ongoing study showing which risk factors actually do cause disease:

http://tulane.edu/som/cardiohealth/

It is research based on autopsies of 3-17 year olds who died accidental deaths. These were the findings:

" Aortic fatty streaks were strongly related to both total and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol (r = 0.62, P < 0.0001 for each association), and were inversely correlated with the ratio of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol to LDL plus very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) cholesterol (r = -0.29, P < 0.01). Coronary artery fatty streaks were associated with elevated total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, VLDL cholesterol, and systolic blood pressure. Higher levels of LDL and VLDL cholesterol, triglycerides, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and a lower ratio of HDL to LDL plus VLDL were found in those people with coronary artery fibrous plaques"

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7503122

So both total and LDL cholesterol levels PRE-DEATH were indicative of who had the most fatty streaks in their arteries even in childhood.

And, below 140 ml/dl is where people's cholesterol needs to be to be "heart attack proof". Those who have "normal" cholesterol of 150-200 have bout 30% of all heart attacks.

There are counties in rural China, Guizhou County to be exact, where there were no recorded deaths due to heart disease in a population of 246,000 during a 3-year study period.

In Uganda, during the 1950's there were villages were the only heart disease heart attack was in the village judge. I'm thinkin' they were bribing him with steaks.

And, Dr. Klaper said that whenever the strings of cholesterol that were removed from surgery were sent down to the pathology lab to be analyzed, the results were ALWAYS saturated fat and cholesterol.

The Brachial Artery Restriction Tourniquet Tests (B.A.R.T.) that Dr. Rober Vogel from Balitmore Maryland has been doing has clearly shown that the foods that cause the damage (inflammation) to the endothelial cells of the arteries are ALL animal foods, ALL oils, caffeine and fruit juices and sweeteners. Whole fruit does not cause this and he is not ant-fruit.
