TSM, you have to realise that any sort of intolerant or reprehensible behaviour is excused as long as one clasifies themselves as '' vegan ''. The term vegan gives them carte blanche to attack anyone who doesn't agree with them. If Doug wasn't a vegan these same people would be howling him down and wouldn't overlook any of his discretions - same for Harley. No problem eating for 4 white flour pizzas and a pound of white sugar a day and going to Thai restaurants, as long as your are vegan.

Clarrisa excused Dougs reprehensible behaviour as ' we're all human ', and her and another looked at the good he provided them. Are we going to set the bar so low in the health community that we accept inexcusable behaviour? I can understand Harley and Fred Patenaude and others who were still young, but Doug is 60 and should know better from a long time ago. Also, all the good that Doug taught them could have been given without all the bad advice thrown in. Just because some good came of his teachings doesn't mean we excuse all the bad.

Why do these same people have issues with Dougs terrible fasting practices but overlook the people who have had good results at his fasting retreats? That is the approach they take to his 80/10/10. They only look at themselves and the few good results, but overlook the extremely high failure rate, but are critical of his fasting practices. They should only point to the successful fasters if they are going to be consistent.

I read the other day that there are now over 30,000 centenarians in the UK. Are we going to look at these peoples diets to see how long we live? The majority of the people don't live to 100 in the UK. Some people can survive on any diet - even on a high fruit raw diet.

Gary, until you answer the 4 questions I have asked you, don't bother replying to this post as I won't be engaging in any of your inanity. Why won't you answer those 4 specific questions?

1. How old are you?

2. How long have you been on a sucessful 100% high raw fruit diet.

3. Have you ever cheated or binged in that time?

4. How long did it take you to discover and stick to your ideal diet which you reckon works for everyone?

These are simple questions. Most of us here are honest about these things.
