One thing l forgot to mention before l really start to get into the nitty gritty of 80-10-10 nutrition.....

folks often mention blood testing to determine if we are getting good nutrient levels. Let me clearly state that such thinking is highly misleading. Why?

1. it is not what is in the blood that is paramount, it is what you ABSORB that matters. We must avoid the public blood testing system and go private for blood spectra testing and various urine tests when appropiate. This costs thousands of dollars to be done properly.

2. even blood spectra testing is not fool proof. Why? Because people have different nutritional requirements. For eg, some people with stressful lifestyles may require multiple times the B vitamins when compared with other people. Even some people without stressful lifestyles have been reported to need up to 5 times the B vitamin levels than other people.

Remember, nutrient rda's are only averages, some people will require less and other will require a lot more nutrition. For me, l require a boat load of nutrition to be at my best. The point is - we need to experiement and follow no set dietary idea so we can find the diet balance which works for us best, this can take years.

Another thing we need to be aware of are that some people are fast oxidisers and other people are slow oxidisers. This clearly tells us that set macronutrient ratios preached by diet gurus cannot be taken seriously. Mc Dougal does it, Dr Doug does it because it caters to their fancy philosphies they hold dear, but it ignored the individual and is a theory that assumes we are all made the same like robots.

I say once again...get away from the gurus and be your own guru. I am my own guru, and you all can be too. *smile*

We want to get out of this raw food 101 school and the 101 vegan fantasy school and start having proper conversations about real issues. We all know about the fancy philosphies dear to vegans, but lets look at what is happening in the real world.
