…it is still worth describing as a Standard to Aim at. -Socrates, Plato’s “The Republic,” p. 231

I thought of what Socrates said when I read what Dr. Gabriel Cousens wrote on page 218 in “Conscious Eating”:

“In the Talmud, Rabbi Yishamel said, ‘From the day that the holy Temple was destroyed it would have been right to have imposed upon ourselves the law prohibiting the eating of flesh. But the rabbis have laid down a wise and logical ruling that the authorities must not impose any decree unless the majority of the members of the community are able to abide by it. Otherwise the law and those who administer it get into disrepute.’”

So it is with COOKED FOOD!!!

Indeed, the Vegan and Raw Vegan Message is NOT an easy Message to get out to the masses and most people who try to do so end up soft selling our Message to appeal to a larger audience. In fact, it’s just as difficult to get a Meat Eater to become a Vegan as it is for a Vegan to become a Raw Vegan.

So does this mean we must compromise our Message?

No, it means that we must find a better way to get people to see what they’re missing, which is why I am convinced that the only way to Wake Up the Masses is with Juice Fasting/Feasting. Once people see what they’re missing, they’ll be in a better position to evaluate what they’re doing and what they need to do and until then, none of them are going to think it’s a fair trade to give up their drug of choices whether it’s hamburgers or tofu.

Now for those who are thinking, but John, we have to be realistic, I say, heed the words from Anthony Robbins on page 81 in “Awaken the Giant Within”:

“Most people who constantly say, ‘Let’s be realistic,’ are really just living in fear, deadly afraid of being disappointed again. ...Great leaders are rarely “realistic”. They are intelligent, and they are accurate, but they are not realistic by other people’s standards.”

As Thomas Deloney and John Taylor once said, “God sends meat and the Devil sends cooks.”
