thanks for pointing out the 4 minute mark about teeth. I never would have watched otherwise.

They should put a warning on all youtube videos of fruitarians chewing on handfuls of dates that they will rot your teeth, like they have warnings about cigarettes and the lungs.

I have always loved raw vegan food but I have watched shyly all these fruit bats eating loads of dates. It never made sense to me and my understanding of the five elements and five flavors (I practice Ghinese medicine). I only use dates, raisins and sapotes for sweeteners and avoid sugar and agave and of course honey as sweeteners. But even when using dates, I use them only to mix with things like sprouted sesame milk (which is pretty bitter by itself) and as Mike figured out, it's best to blend them into liquids so they don't sit on your teeth.

I use one pound of nopal daily to rebuild my teeth when I feel a weakness in my teeth (the nopal can be made into a raw smoothie or juiced through a centrifugal juicer). Nopal has more calcium than kale or collards. Other cactus works amazingly well, too. One leaf of aloe daily is good to swish in mouth before swallowing. I have one cactus that has crunchy mineral crystals inside that is very healing to the teeth. There are so many wonderful plants to heal the teeth, but they must be high calcium. When nopal cactus reaches maturity, it will not die when picked, therefore it can easily live through long travels to get to cold climates. WHen it is very mature, it should be juiced, as there is too much fibers inside. Try one pound daily for a week and see if you don't feel a difference in a week in your teeth.
