Irrelevant or not-I come from contemporary society
where I've practically been a vegan for a year without
knowing it had a name and following. I've been aware
of actual "veganism" for about a month and a half and
I'm utterly disgusted with this community. The way
people treat each other is gross. It's unavoidably
discouraging for me and I'm a fairly positive and
optimistic person.. but because I've become "vegan" in
the midst of so much controversy and disrespect it's
now how I associate it. Now everyday, because I'm
objective, I have to fight that association when
shopping or fellowshipping as not to judge every vegan
as.. well, this.

I'd like to encourage people to reconsider the way
they engage each other socially/publically. Because
people are watching, vegan and non-vegan alike, and
they are learning and they are associating and you are
contributing. And your one shot to expose the
incalculable benefits of veganism can be
misrepresenting making the whole communities job that
much harder. it's not worth it.

I'm officially disassociating myself with the 30bad
and foodnsport communities. Shame on doug and harley
both for their approach. doug's been consistently
dishonest and attempting to hide it and harleys been
consistently attacking people as if he can't expose
the hucksters with compassion and forgiveness.

*the vegan community reminds me of the prison
industrial complex because both of them fail to
recognize and implement the decades worth of psycho-
social research showing that people need community-
based rehabilitation to overcome their desire for
adverse behaviour, NOT punishment, which consistently
exasperates it's reinforcement. again, telling people
they're "wrong" or "bad" is child's play. it's
dismissive. It doesn't say "I understand and yes
you're still welcome".
