The Above post from my husband Lan did not mention a friend who had serious Iron Deficiency Anemia when she was pregnant (blood count of nearly 9 when it should be above 12). In three months the iron pills the doc gave her were not working. In fact her test results got slightly worse and her elimination looked like tar. She did not want iron shots. So he offered to help her.

In 3 weeks they were able to raise her blood count to 12.3 - in the safe range. They did the same thing for her as for Lan in his post about Celiac Disease.

The end of the story (3 months later) was that a typhoon cause power and roadway outages. Lan (a former red cross instructor) was able to help the lady deliver her baby at home, by candle light, at 3:33 AM, with only the doctor on the other end of a cell phone, in the middle of a raging storm, that was destroying buildings and roads all around them!

During the delivery she expelled about a liter and a half (3 pints) of brown blood clots the size of tennis balls. She had been bleeding in her womb during part of her pregnancy, but it had already healed! Mother and baby were both ok and are still doing well today.

The doctor later told her that if Lan had not been able to bring her iron blood count up to above 12 when he did she would have bleed to death with no way to get to the hospital.

This is a simple technique we developed to deliver more iron to people who specifically need it, without supplements, while staying raw vegan.
