Subject:         Back on low fat vegan

I dropped off the low fat vegan wagon about a year ago. I made several attempts to get back on but didn't. I am now about 25 pounds over weight and I am sure I am headed for trouble, since the reversal of my heart condition is still contingent on what I do with food and motion. So, I am beginning again, starting from scratch. It is difficult because none of my family have the remotest desire to eat this way. I am also making sure I stay away from sugar. It seems that sugar is the first thing that starts leading me away from this diet. It seems to create in me a strong desire to overeat and I begin to not care what I am eating. I have copied a glycemic index and plan to use it as a guide to what kind of carbohydrates I eat. I think that white flour and white rice and maybe even potatoes could stimulate an unhealthy desire to eat more than I need. Is there anyone out there who has had this same experience and problems associated with it?
