can give my case: I was diagnosed with 14X9 at a doctor office. At home my BP was not much lower. The doctor gave me pills to lower BP and it worked fine, but I had to switch between brands, to avoid some side effects at the beginning of treatment.

The best part came after entering in this site where I found help from Dr. Neal Pinckney and the sites of Drs. Esselstyn, Ornish and Mc Dougall. All of them recommended plant based food. Because I stop eating so much fat, I lost 40 pounds in six months. Then in one of the visits to a heart doctor he measured my BP and it was 10X6. He made me to stop taking pills for BP and after a few months my BP went to around 12X7, what for me it is fine. The side effect of a new life style that included exercises (30 min a day of briskly walking) it was very good because it reversed my Coronary Heart Disease!

Hope this may help you to talk in the next your visits to your doctors.

Bottton line: to reduce weight it may be the best way to reduce BP.
