The relaxation part of your cruise sounded great. It is unfortunate that the food options didn't fair as well.

You discovered something that I never thought of before and that was to dehydrate food. Surprised it didn't work as you expected. What food choices for dehydration did you make? Perhaps certain food combos without added fats work better than some. Appreciate your thoughts and experience.

Recently took my family on an overnight trip to Philadelphia. And I used my method of taking frozen meals (Veggie and Bean Stews) and letting them defrost to room temperature and pre made brown rice. This worked out great. And at one of the Cafeterias at the Constitution Center, one of the Chefs even microwaved my dish to reheet. Like I never left home! Supplemented along the way with fruit from home and at the hotel. This method works and when you have a microwave and frig in the hotel room it works flawlessly.

My hat goes off to you for trying. Don't be discouraged by your result, you will get better at the techniques. And as far as your gluttonous fellow travelers, they are "dying" with envoy at your discipline and health!
