By "low fat dogma" I take it you refer to the only published peer reviewed reversal diet known to science?

I have briefly reviewed the study you cited and will need more time to study it, but here are some red flags. The study utilized an "ad libitum" diet which means eat whatever the hell you want, just ad 56 grams of walnuts a day. The flaw here is that if the participant replaces meat with walnuts, there will be an improvement simply cause of the fact that walnuts have less saturated fat than meat.

Also troubling is the fact that blood pressure in the walnut eating group went up. Not good.

Even more troubling was that the group who did not eat walnuts and just kept eating the same showed a decrease in blood pressure. This makes no sense and indicates a poorly designed and controlled study. Obviously, diet and other factors were changing beyond what the researchers bothered to measure.

If you are looking for the safest diet to follow, simply follow Dr E's diet and look for foods you enjoy within its parameters.

Look, I know it is tough to give up fat, but that's what you need to do unless you want to make yourself a test case with dire consequence if the theory is wrong.

I use a lot of spices and cocoa to make mealtimes and snacks fun, might that work for you?
