I was worried of HDL being low (40), after I started this program and became 100% Vegan, even with my LDL (37) and Total Cholesterol came to less than 100, because of HDL came from 45 to 40.

My Doctor and also other publications, among them the book of Julian Whitaker M.D. (page 38 of "Reversing Heart Disease"), the ratio of total cholesterol to HDL of less than 3.1 is desirable and the higher it is, the greater the risk.

Before this program my Total Cholesterol was 200 and HDL 45. After Vegan style my Total Cholesterol went to 93 and HDL reduced to 40. So the ratio that was 4.4 before this program, after it went to 2.3, that is much less than 3.1. My Doctor said: you are ok! The ratio being 2.3 is wonderful, because when Total Cholesterol comes down as in your case, HDL may go down as well. The important aspect is the ratio...
