Hi Ricardo,

Thanks for your tips.

I did make Feijoada while my friends visited and they enjoyed watching me cooking it and eating it. They were very kind in their praise and did comment that they didn't miss the oil..the meat however was another matter. They were very kind and gave me a jar of Brazilian hot peppers (I don't remember the name) which I put into the dish instead of the jalapeņo I normally do. They were surprised how hot I made it and at the end of the day were very satisfied with the meal. Unfortunately, I don't know that I made any converts to the VLF diet. They could really benefit from the program as they are overweight and their children are as well. But as others have learned on this board, I didn't evangelize!

You are doing so well. I do agree that the five year mark on the program does kick in changes. I wish someone could do some research to positively document specific this on a broad group of participants. I know about Dr E and O work of course. However I think it would be helpful to actually know at the end of 1 year, 2 ..5, 10 years where the actual healing and reversals take place.

Since I have been on for five years I must say experientially that I have never felt better and had more energy then in my life. As I have frequently said on this board before, the key is Dr E missive "Moderation Kills". I am zealot about never deviating from the program in all these years. Getting this point to take hold on those who embark on this lifestyle is extremely difficult..heck I am living proof that it took 40 plus years of weight swings to finally get it! I believe strongly, based on my experience and that of limited research which does show that cravings for fatty foods can be eliminated by total abstinence from these substances.

Any thoughts everyone?

Best,

herman
