The issue isn't that animals die, because everything dies. It is inherent in nature, just look around you. That's a given.

The issue is factory farming and the horrifying ways in which animals not only die, but are forced to live. That's basically it in a nutshell, once you become aware of the increasingly cruel ways in which humans use animals for anything and everything they want for their food, their cars, their comfort, convenience, and "to feel good", it's difficult to see food and cars and clothes (leather) quite the same way you used to.

It's not about one person feeling superior to another. It's just about rejecting the idea that we have the right to imprison, torture, and murder innocent beings who have no voice and no say, and who do not want to be dinner or a couch or a seat in a fancy car. It's extending what we assume to be a basic right of humans, the right to live life as nature intends, to all living beings, regardless of species.
