I'm a brand new vegan myself, and I've taken it upon myself to be sure that my daughter and I are eating a very healthy and 'green' vegan diet. I am exercising and eating well, and I have to tell you...I can't remember the last time (if there was a last time) that I felt this healthy. I am no longer moody (yikes, did i used to be!). I feel balanced and at peace with myself. I know I am making the right choices with my diet (and the planet). I am eating healthier than I ever have, and I have more energy than ever. I'm learning to use tofu and other soy products in place of dairy. And I'm eating a wonderful variety of foods I've never even tried before.

My advice is not to think of it as what you're giving up, but of all that you gain. The variety present in a good vegan diet is amazing (just look at recipes posted here if you need ideas).

Good luck, and remember, there are lots of us out there who've gone vegan!

This is a great place to find support!
