Embre, I just had my first vegan shopping experience, and it was HARD. I know that once I become more aware of the products, things will get easier. If you have a good health food section at your local supermarket, that can help. For instance, while browsing I found something called Soy Scramblers. This is some sort of mix that you make with tofu to mimic scrambled eggs. You'll find there are all kinds of things you can try that you haven't had before. I'm using barley this evening for the first time in my life.

Awareness comes in all forms. How about going shopping and realizing you've been missing out on about 75% of what's out there food wise. I'm enjoying the trying new things part of this.

I'm dabbling in soy milks right now, and found that I like silk. The vanilla flavored ones are my preference. But still haven't found one my daughter will drink.

Also found soy marjarine. And I got Gardenburgers last night. Can't wait to try those. I found a lot of cheese, but many/most of them had milk protein in them.

Good luck!
