I use Seventh Generation. I only fill the dishwasher cup 1/2 full and that does the trick. But I prerinse my dishes. Also, their laundry detergent is concentrated, so unless you are getting REALLY dirty, I only use about a 1/4 of the capfull for most large loads. But we don't get greasy or dirty - just normal wear, but supposedly, you can use something like borax (it's cheap) to help boost your detergent also. My aunt, doesn't use soap in her dishwasher. She basically washes them by hand, and then puts them in the dishwasher to just steralize them for a few minutes (not a full cycle maybe like 15 or 20 minutes). Hope these help. Jena
