Jack, it is up to you how you want to live your life. If you choose to eat animal products then that is your choice but I am not sure of your point?

I do not miss out on socializing or company functions at all. I just don't focus my energy on what I cannot eat or what others think, I focus it on the people, the time spent with them and if food is involved then I eat what I can (almost every restaurant has something you can eat that is vegan if you aren't picky and don't make the food your top priority of the event) and just don't get upset by it at all.

My friends and family are not vegan. Yet they respect my beliefs and I don't try to change theirs. I bring vegan food to parties and family gatherings and some eat them and some don't - ok by me. There are lots of situations where I eat minimally if I don't bring something but again, who cares? It is one day.

I agree that living in a bubble where the only people you can be around are vegan isn't realistic - but who said you had to live that way?
