And I really did spoil him - I fed him fresh grapes, apple, blackberries, I sprouted almonds for him (thinking that the enzymes would help him heal and he LOVED the sprouted almonds), raw walnuts, dry roasted unsalted peanuts, raw sunflower seeds, then other "hamster" food that was loaded with nutrients. I had soft bedding with even softer "nesting material" and a small piece of black fleece that he would crawl under to sleep (it was so adorable!). I put different "tubes" in his cage that he could crawl through and play on and other things for him to gnaw on. So I do know that he did have a great life when he was with me. I will miss him so much.
