My last post appears to have diappeared into cyber-space. But I found some interesting information. I am curious as to why Tofu is found to be questionable in this study but Tempeh not. I found a couple of links which are interesting: http://www.thesoyfoodscouncil.com/soyexperts.html That link seems a bit questionable in it cerdibility simply because it appears very biased and funded by the Soy industry, but it does suggest that Tempeh in Indonesia is not normally treated with formaldehyde, this sort of makes sense to me since tempeh is fermented- tofu is not. Caveat Emptor! http://www.smh.com.au/news/World/Formaldehyde-food-scare-in-Indonesia/2006/01/09/1136771495164.html This last link was about an apparent food scare in Indonesia a few years ago regarding formaldehyde.
