there is someone on here who knows or knew Sam Simon well. I am very perplexed and concerned because he died of colon cancer on the weekend and from what I understand he was a vegetarian from age 19 and a vegan since 2005.

I always felt that colon cancer's prevailing cause was animal products, especially meat. If Sam was on a 100% vegan diet since 2005, how did he wind up with colon cancer?

Maybe junk vegan food can also help cause colon cancer? So did Sam eat like 100% fried soyburgers and french fries? Did he never consume fresh, raw, ripe, organic and whole fruits and vegetables?

I know that vegan can mean from anything like being on a 100% raw fruit and vegetable low fat diet to a 100% processed deep fried junk food diet. Which diet was Sam consuming? As a very wealthy and intelligent man, I would have thought he was smart enough to go with a high raw vegan diet with mostly whole fruits and vegetables.

Anybody have any insight into what happened and what was his diet really like?

I personally gave up going for colonoscopies in 2005 myself because I am on a nearly 100% raw fruit and vegetable diet, but if the risk of cancer is still high, maybe I should start going back to the doctor?
