Quite possibly Gina.

Over-working and in turn burnout can lead to a condition known as copper bio-unavailability, causing issues with proper metabolism of the mineral copper.

This leads to many of the same symptoms as copper deficiency, which includes connective tissue problems and can contribute to the formation of aneurysms.

Part of the issue is caused by sub-optimal adrenal gland function or adrenal fatigue as its known. Proper copper metabolism is highly dependent on healthy adrenal gland function to signal the liver to produce copper binding proteins such as ceruloplasmin.

The second part to the problem is severe zinc deficiency, which can be exacerbated by low zinc and high copper diets such as 80/10/10. Healthy adrenal gland function is again dependent on sufficient levels of zinc and a healthy balance of zinc to copper(8:1).

You can have high copper levels whilst also suffering from copper bio-unavailability/deficiency.

Imagine the situation like many potential 80/10/10ers find themselves in, they are drawn to the diet because they are often suffering from burnout/adrenal fatigue and with the typical raw vegan diet being so high in copper, it begins to build up in the body due to the lack of proper metabolism and weak adrenals.

This is why most long term 80/10/10ers are very mentally unstable, aggressive, paranoid, anxious and much of it is caused by underlying copper toxicity and severe zinc deficiencies. Zinc is considered to be a grounding and calming mineral, whilst copper is very stimulating and stimulates the production of many neurotransmitters such as epinephrine(adrenaline), norepinephrine and dopamine.

All in all, a typical raw vegan diet such as 80/10/10 is potentially one of the worst diets for recovering from burnout and adrenal fatigue. Many of these individuals also have sluggish liver function, so they often don't produce sufficient cholesterol to meet there needs.

Cholesterol is the vital pre-cursor to adrenal and steroid sex hormones. Again diets like 80/10/10 are completely deficient in many essential nutrients and pre-cursors to adrenal health.
