Hi Myra,

You say lower fat. Fair enough. Just a few thoughts....

1. cannot culture flax and chia, never works well. Best to culture small amounts of sunflower, almond, coconut, sesame, walnut etc.

2. might want to sprout flax grass to add to green drinks if sprouted chia and flax is too overwhelming for you.

3. algaes, green drinks and seaweeds may make it easier to tolerate higher fat foods (lots of science does suggest this). Experimentation is the key.

4. some days you might even blend sprouted chia and have some coconut oil after it to improve EPA/DHA conversion. BUT...maybe have this meal after algaes and greens to help tolerate the high fat seeds. Note, sprouting will reduce fat levels by about 20% after 2 days of sprouting. Lots of things can be done to help. Maybe using sprouting (lowers fat levels), adding in buffer foods (can block fat absorption) and fermentation (lowers fat levels) to lower fat levels won't help you tolerate things better, but maybe it will. Again...experimentation is the key here, it can take years.

These are some ideas myra. Not everything is black and white like we think....there are many solutions to problems when we bring in certain foods and certain processing techniques to make higher fat foods more tolerable etc. Looking at the whole picture and how things work together is important for maximising our success.

In the past the vegan community has always seen things in a simplified black and white manner, but it's time we moved forward and used the information available to us to do things in an improved manner by utilising the multiple options available to us.
