You do realize that elevated triglycerides are a pre-cursor to metabolic syndrome and part of the diagnostic criteria for diagnosing the condition.

Anyway nobody claimed Kristina had metabolic syndrome, but if she continues eating the way she is long term i.e excessive amounts of sugar who knows. Research has proven time and time again that role of high sugar diets in metabolic disorders.

What does Gluconeogenesis have to do with someone eating too much sugar. This is a dietary issue once again.

Gary says she wasn't in a fasted state, which could skew the result anyway. Most generic blood work recommends one to be fasted for accuracy, many of the readings on her blood may be slightly skewed give or take from blood glucose, cholesterol/lipid profile to even iron.

However regardless of Kristina being fasted or not having a high blood triglyceride level even after eating is not a positive indicator, especially when the food she eats is typically low fat and healthy. We are not talking about taking someones blood after a greasy fry up here, this is a young woman eating a supposedly super healthy diet.

Anyway John you are her teacher, so instead of shooting everyone else down, how about you give us your professional insight, considering you are the guru/teacher here ?
