Paul eventually returned to raw vegan. I don't know
what the Boutenkos are doing nowadays. Other raw vegan
gurus have moved away from 100% raw, Fred Patenaude,
Matt Monarch, Kevin Gianni; they have not returned to
100% raw. John Kohler recommends high raw but does not
push 100% raw like some gurus.

The "larger picture" is the implosion of the 100% raw
vegan community, with the low fat or high carb faction
being reduced to almost no followers by the defection
of many former 100% raw followers to "raw till 4" or
raw+cooked. If raw + cooked works better for those
people, and there is reason to think that it will work
better than 100% raw, then that is good. From that
viewpoint, the strict 100% raw vegan diet is indeed
"dead".
