Yes BJ, people are starting to wake up now. No one diet fits all. Some people are naturally slow oxidisers and other people are fast oxidisers, this means some do better on high carb and other people do better on lower carb higher fat etc (I will talk thoroughly about the fat issue another day, because vegans are only geting a small part of the story by Esselstyn and Campbell, but there is a lot in the reasearch that those two lads never bring up).

This slow v's fast oxidiser issue is what we now need to be thinking more about, but there are a lot more issues to think about also. We can teach some good solid ideas for diet, but we cannot teach the artform of diet because the artform is very individual, and only the person can tell themselves what balance of raw diet best works for them.

The artform of diet =

1. finding the macronutrient ratio which works best for them. This can take years.

2. finding the levels of micronutrients which allows a person to be at their best. This can take years. Rda's are only an average, but people's requirements for nutrients can greatly vary, so don't treat the cronometer as the be all and end all.

Why can this take years? Because the raw diet gives off a lot of energy, but a person cannot necessarily harness all the energy of a raw diet straight away...a person goes through stages of diet progression where they will increasingly harness more and more power if things are done right (I speak from a living foods perspective only).

What is all this about stages? Well...when a person first starts off they will be full of toxins and probably deficient. The first stage is where you detox and start building up the body. BUT...the body won't handle all the living food at first because it needs to right the wrongs (balance) the things going on in the body before the body can properly utilize all the energy/stuff from the food. The better you feed the body (high FRESH nutrient food and enhance digestion etc) and clean out, the more the body will thrive. Along the progression and healing process in diet will come the occasional energy blockages which may last days or a week or two that can be overcome by rotating foods so the body can rest from concentrated energies in the certain foods. As the body and mind improves these blockages will eventually go away and a whole new state of being emerges. That is like a third stage. The next stage is where there you are high energy all the time, minimal stress and a desire not to think negative thoughts about people (we can be disappointed in behaviour of people, but you don't bash the person under any circumstaces).

See...diet is a long process of transition. It is also an artform that must be tailored uniquely to the person. It is also a process of unblocking the blockages in the body and mind so we can harness the full power of raw. No-one really talks about this stuff in the raw food world, but we need to because this is the central core issue imo. Gabriel Coisens is the only one l know of who is getting somewhat into this and he seems right on from my experience.

Lets get past raw food 101 talk and take it to raw food 505, because we can. In 20 years we can hopefully get really advanced and take it to raw food 808.

Now is the time to start doing good things. We are still in the old 60's school of raw diet thinking (raw food 101), but NOW IS THE TIME!!! Sieze the moment my dear friends....SIEZE THE MOMENT....for it is our moment to seize.

Be wary of anyone who comes out claiming they know lots about diet and nutrition, because none of us do. Someone very famous made that statement the other week, so l wrote to them asking them how they could make such a claim stating we haven't even discovered all the nutrients yet and don't even know everything an apple contains. When people make such dubious claims it proves how little they do know and shows they haven't developed much wisdom yet....always a sign to be very wary of such folks.
