DDCass,

The best natural healers I know use juice fasting with herbs. How did my friend heal of liver cancer in 7 months? Using Dr. Schuzle's herbs along with fresh juices. He would have died on a water fast. I think you have it wrong when you think water fasting can heal major issues over juice fasting. Check out the Gerson Insitute in mexico where they pioneered curing advanced cancers with juice fasting. Water fasting would have failed. Chimpanzees eat over 100 herbs. But the natural hygiene people won't take herbs. BUT you have it right to start asking a lot of questions.

You seem really hardcore, which is cool. You might like a dry faster named Almadeus Star. He's dry fasted for 3 weeks. BUT he was also in nature and in the water. I am sure his skin absorbed water. Check out his website. I once interviewed him for a newspaper article.

Brian is asserting that people are mineral deficient to begin with BEFORE their fast and not just minerals...also vitamins, enzymes, the whole gamut. Therefore, when someone is so deficient in key nutrients, Brian cannot see the value in withholding those nutrients by water fasting. He sees the value in giving those nutrients in an intelligent fashion via juices, which has to be done graduallly. You can't drink more than a gallon of juice a day, generally speaking.

Brian looks amazing...better in person than on camera. His hair is amazing for his age. That is not a coincidence. His brother is grey and has hair issues. Brian meticulously fed his body to get to his level of health and vitality. That did not come by way of water fasting. Every regular water faster that I know of looks old and deficient, including Almadeus, (although I love the guy...beautiful heart).

In Chinese medicine, we have a saying, "do not drain the deficient, do not tonify the excess." This is such the crux when we practice correct herbalism and diet therapy. It also applies when determining who should do a water vs juice fast.

Here I will share Lou Corona's glowing experience on his water fast. But in his case, he was healing from impaction from his past SAD diet years and he was also doing colon cleansing. So he was actually washing his body from the inside and out. Lou got a ton of waste out. But I also think Lou's spirituality makes him uniquely gifted to do water fasting because he does a lot of prayer and he uses the power of his mind and heart to affect his body's chemistry. The average person would be better off with fresh juices. Lou is only one that I have seen that doesn't look worse for the wear from water fasting, but I think he only did it twice (prolonged).

Lorraine Day drank her 13 juices daily PLUS a ton of water daily to heal from breast cancer.

I am sure True North has its place and important applications, and it's definitely a science worth exploring in minutiae, but I stand firm with Brian Clement on this subject.

Durianrider is pushing for people to get tested before they fast. He is not speculating on their levels. BRian Clement does test his clients before and after the program to see if their nutrient values went up.
