When I wrote my post the original topic under
question was not zinc, but rather sodium. Carrots
meet that need surpassing RDA's and then some
without needing to resort to using salt.

That said, it is with the addition of some walnuts,
one brazil nut and one head of romaine that one
could fully get the RDA's for zinc and otherwise.


All nutrients are subject to absorption and
availability issues due to stress, sleep, etc.

This is not just a zinc issue but all.

I trust the body will take the zinc in the plants
and use what it needs.

As to the bioavailability of zinc being less in
plants like carrots and romaine being LESS than in
meat, I do not know if it's as important an issue
with produce versus plant legumes and nuts with
phytates in them but I'm not that concerned about
it as you are.
