MM,

as you would probably know, zinc from plants has quite low bioavailability when compared to something like meat. So when you say you get the rda for zinc, at what level are you reaching, and does it make allowances for poor bioavailability?

Another issue...l notice the the copper - zinc ratio is quite unbalanced when competing for absorption, and l notice the high manganese is going to limit the buffering that iron will play on copper because the maganese will be stifling some of it's effect. How are you getting synergy amongst manganese - zinc - copper - iron so you can raise zinc bioavailability without poor synergy reducing zinc bioavailability?

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2693644

How are you dealing with oxalic acid in carrots? Note: sometimes things can be high in oxalic acid and sometimes things can be low. Do you consume a brown seaweed to induce enzymatic reactions that protect against possible renal damage from the ox?

Another interesting thing on oxalic acid...some say it can bind in raw foods and others say it doesn't. Certaionly no research appears to give a definite answer for humans. What are your thoughts on oxalic acid binding with calcium/iron etc?

These issues and questions always come to my mind. Now to be as fair as l can...I understand that we can improve zinc absorption when we are starved of this through poor bioavailability/mineral synergy in the diet, but l have never felt that getting nutrients in such a fashion is an optimal way to be doing things.

I will be very interested in your feedback because l am always open to learning new things.

btw, l like how you mentioned eating one Brazil nut. That made me smile so much.
