Hi John,

as you might be aware, one of my missions in raw foods is to try and hold people to higher standards with the hope that other people will too. This means reading the science and using common sense as much as possible.

I hold myself to higher standards also John, l am not immune from pulling the rug from underneath myself. In fact, in the next few months (when l get time) l will be exposing myself once again for speaking `poppycock' on my forum about water. When ever l catch myself writing poppycock l put my head on the chopping block for all to see. I do the same with other people too. There is no ego in this because l am not immune from exposing myself...we can't be right all the time. We don't want to be children in an adults playground anymore, we want to grow and learn and uphold high standards in the raw food world.

In the old days it was bad manners on my behalf to sink Rev Malkmas in the way l did, but it was a learning experience for me that l have moved on from.

Malkmus says "at great expense to the body". How can scientists or he be so sure? Please quantify how great the energy used is. See....this is what l don't want to be buying into, all this generalised words that don't mean much. Lots of things are said to require great effort such as digesting food and the workings of the body, now to the next point below. is another thought. Would you rather risk being highly sodium deficient and coming down with possible serious health problems (risk of early death) or would you rather take some salt and work the body harder? I now take salt and l don't notice my body working a lot harder as a result. Our body can deal with stuff despite people saying it is "at great expense". We don't want to get too fairy land about all this stuff, we 2want to put it into real world context.

I hope you see what l am trying to get at.
