Subject:         grains - corn?

I just finished reading Grain Damage...I am currently transitioning to the 811rv and cutting out all grains...My question is - Is corn considered a grain? I love it raw, it is very sweet and juicy, and in nature, very easy to aquire for humans...is it a grain I should leave out and why?
