Heidi,
1. I grow weary of this conversation.
2. I see no point in it.
3. I believe I can come up with better uses of my time.
4. You already know all the good things about Bikram and heat, so
why do you want me to tell you them again?
5. Who is benefitting from this thread at this point?

DG: Your heartbeat rises in anticipation, and experience, of activity.

The benefit of sweating is heat regulation. The body perspires in an
effort to keep the body from overheating. When sweat drips from
the body, as you say it does when you do Bikram (I believe you
mentioned soaking a towel with perspiration) even that regulating
benefit is lost.

If by cardio benefit you mean any activity that results in a raise in
heart rate, then by all means you are correct. You would be alone
in defining cardio in that way, as the world of fitness professionals
does not consider all activity that results in heart rate increase as
cardio, Heidi, but you are of course entitled to see things your way.

A person with great flexibility will likely not see huge benefits in
flexibility from doing Bikram. A person with poor flexibility will see
huge benefits in flexibility from doing any flexibility program,
including Bikram.

Flexibility is typically not about muscle flexibility, but about joint
flexibility, Heidi. You asked about muscle strengthening, and
muscle stretching.

I don't consider Bikram a waste of time or money for you. You love
it. It would be a waste of time and money for me, for I do not love
it, and have not had good experiences with it. In fact, I have had
bad experiences with it. I have never suggested that you are foolish
for practicing Bikram, in fact quite the opposite. What I have said,
repeatedly, is that some of the claims you make for Bikram are
unfounded. I don't know why what I say about physiology affects
how you feel about Bikram. I understand that I do not rave about
Bikram like the instructors do. So what? I also don't make false
claims about my work.

BTW, I don't say that "811 is for everyone." You misquote me when
you say that. I say, "everyone is designed, by Nature, for 811."
