Subject:	Frequent Throat Infections or Sore Throats

Doctor, I am 30 year old guy and I have been suffering from frequent sore throats from 4 years. I get fever, crippling body aches and ofcourse severe throat pain, glands feel swollen but no other symptoms. For the first year, my doctor used to give me anti biotics as he sees white patches in my throat (all strep throat tests comes out negative). All bacteria/Virus tests comes out negative and a negative HIV test as well :). But for the last 2 years, I have stopped taking anti biotics and the sore throat stays for 5-6 days and goes away by itself. But it returns every month.

From last 1 yr I have been taking care of myself well, eating right, eating protein, fiber. Regular exercises and I was able to break the monthly cycle of Sore throats. But I still get them once every 3-4 months. I am vegetarian from birth. I have cut down on diary products. Take GNC multi vitamin. Have good healthy habits and active life style. But I still don't know why I cant get rid of these crippling,persistent sore throats.

Can you please help ? What specific questions I should ask my doctor ? Is it some kind of allergy ? or weak immunity ? I am losing piece of mind.
