Subject:         Hysterectomy for Chronic Pelvic Pain
Date: November 12, 2008 at 1:27 pm PST

I have had pelvic pain for almost two years now. It got considerable worse after my second child. I have had several paps come back abnormal, even going to far as to having a LEEP procedure done. I have also had laparascopic surgery which ruled out endometriosis, but determined I did have pelvic congestions (vericosities covering my uterus). At my most recent pap exam, he also did a pelvic exam. The pap itself was pretty painful, and if I recall correctly, they are not supposed to be. He said that everything was very inflammed, as it was a year ago when I hade the laparascopy done. When he pushed my uterus around, it brought me to tears. He has recommended a complete hysterectomy, leaving only the ovaries. I am only 31, but probably not having any more kids. I am just worried that the hysterectomy will not get rid of my pain. To add to the situations, it is painful during sex also, which has dwindled down to maybe once a week, if we are lucky. Any advise?
