Hello,

I'm expecting baby #4 in a few weeks. I've ecologically breasfed my babies, never going more than 2 to 4 hours between feedings day or night (and often nursing much more frequently) in the early months. With babies #1 and #2, my periods returned 6 weeks post partum. With baby #3, my periods did not return til 8 months post partum, but I was nursing both an infant and a toddler then. I was at my highest weight ever when tandem nursing, yet I did not cycle for several months post partum.

I'm very overweight (obese, actually). Could this be the reason why my menses tend to return quickly, even when following the 'rules' of ebf?

If this is in fact because I'm overweight (and presumably because I have too much circulating estrogen for ovulation to be supressed), is there anything I can do to increase the likelihood of delaying ovulation while ebf? Obviously weight loss is a goal, but as overweight as I am, that will not happen overnight.

Thanks in advance.
