I am cutting out dairy from my family's diet. I have a five month old that just started on organic baby foods last month, and as happens with my babies, once they start on food, it only takes them 2-4 months to wean themselves from the breast. Now, with this new lifestyle with the rest of the family, i don't want to put the baby on formula, but am concerned about where he will get his calcium, vitamim d, etc. I don't believe that people were intended to drink milk past infancy, and if he is weaning himself, then i figure that is the end of his need for milk. I'm just scared because i put my other children on formula from the time they weaned until they were old enough to go to soy, and the media advocates a dire need for dairy in your diet. i'm just worried about doing what's best for my baby, any advice would be great!
