Science Books

National Audubon Society Field Guides – $4 each or all seven for $25
All in excellent condition with tight bindings. There are four of the smaller “Pocket Guides” and three of the slightly larger “First Field Guides.” These are wonderful guides to take on nature hikes, on vacation, or to identify something in your own backyard. The four Pocket Guides are: Familiar Flowers of North America, Familiar Reptiles and Amphibians of North America, Insects and Spiders, and Songbirds and Familiar Backyard Birds-East. The three First Field Guides are: Wildflowers, Fishes, and Mammals. I also have an older edition Golden Nature Guide on Rocks and Minerals with 400 color illustrations that I will throw in for free for anyone who wants all seven of the Audubon books (a removed sticker took off part of the front paperback cover and there is shelf wear, but the inside is clean and tight).

BJUP Science 5 2nd ed. Student Text and Tests Answer Key - $5
This hardback text has a small section on the back cover where the paper overlay of the hardback cover has torn off and the first and last few pages have what appears to be a small spill mark of some kind. Neither of these imperfections detract from the text in the least; other than that, the book is in very good condition, no writing or highlighting, binding is clean and tight. The Tests Answer Key is in good condition and complete. Since this isn't the current edition, this would make a great spine for unit studies or just to have on hand for the scientifically curious child.

BJUP Science 6 1st Edition Set- $20 set
While this set is not the current edition, it is in excellent condition and complete. This set includes a hardback Student Text and Teacher's Edition, no writing or highlighting, bindings clean and tight along with the Tests, Test Answer Key and Notebook Packet.

Incredible Earth; A Dorling Kindersley Inside Guide - $4
Like new condition, 44 page hardback. In typical DK style, this book really brings earth science to life with big, bold, colorful pictures. Each two-page spread focuses on a different topic including Crust to Core, Wind and Water, Earthquakes, Volcanoes, Geyser Fields, Glaciers, Oceans, Coral Reefs and more. This book assumes the billions of years theory, but we used that as a point of discussion. This is a wonderful supplement to any elementary earth science study.

The Wild Whale Watch – A Magic School Bus Science Chapter Book – 50˘
Good condition, some outer wear on the paperback cover, no writing inside, binding tight. Reading Level 3rd-4th grade.

The World of Plants, Great Science Adventures by Dinah Zike - $10
In good condition. Because a good section of this book is meant to be reproduced, I removed those pages, insert them into page protectors and put them into a 3-ring binder. The rest of the book is intact, so that even though the book is “broken,” it has been protected and is ready for your copy machine. There is some highlighting on the teacher lesson pages, just to point out which Lots of Science Library Books or graphic needs to be copied for that particular lesson.

The Human Body and How It Works - $3
This 96-page softcover is in good condition; the cover was bent in two places but is intact, the spine has been taped with clear cellophane to prevent further fraying; the inside is clean, no marks, binding is tight. This is an excellent book to further your 3rd - 6th graders studies on the human body. Full-color illustrations accompany the concise, lucid text to describe the interrelationships of all the working parts of the body.

The Human Body; Easy Make and Learn Projects – $3
This 80-page Scholastic softcover book is in good condition, the cover has some shelf wear. This book has reproducibles and easy instructions for making 20 models, manipulatives and mini-books that will teach kids about the human body. The pages are perforated for easy removal in order to make copies of the reproducibles; about half of them have been removed from the book, but they are all there. The cover says Grades 2-4 This book is similar to the Body Book (below), but not exactly the same, I used them both together.

The Body Book – Easy to Make Hands-On Models That Teach $6
The current version has a very slight different cover; my copy was originally a bound book. I broke the binding, separated all the pages, insert them into page protectors and put the whole thing into a 3-ring binder. So even though the book is “broken,” it has been protected and is in excellent condition and ready for your copy machine. Break out the scissors, tape, paste and paper and make a stomach book, 3-D skeleton, a growing-tooth “movie,” a cardboard spinal column, manipulative eye, and more! The book begins with a study of the sense organs: tongue, eye, ear, nose, and skin. The rest of the book is on body systems: skeletal, digestive, respiratory, circulatory, excretory, and muscular. Building models of each helps children understand how they work. The cover says Grades 3-6, but I think 7th graders (when Life Science is typically taught) would benefit also.

All About Rockets and Jets - $1
This 1958 hardcover book by Random House is is excellent condition, no writing or marks, very minor shelf wear. If you have an elementary student interested in this subject, you won't go wrong with this 13-chapter book. Although some of the technology has evolved since the book was written, the history and basic physics concepts have not.

Dinosaurs and the Bible by David Unfred – $7
Excellent condition hardcover (I believe this is out of print). Fascinating and dramatic introduction for everyone wanting to know about those terrible lizards-dinosaurs. Are dinosaurs described in the Bible? What was it like during the world wide Flood of Noah's time? Dinosaurs and the Bible helps you discover answers to these questions and other modern mysteries surrounding dinosaurs. Educational, fun and entertaining.

Thanks for looking!
