We adopted a boy from the UKraine a year and month ago. He has been diagnosed with Reactive Attachment Disorder.

He has bonded with his dad alot easier. Due to our little boy's history--he has a distrust in women. He will not completely bond with me the mom. He was abandoned by his 18 yr old mom and the alcoholic grandmother neglected him severely (all this in his 1st two years of life) he was taken out of the grandmothers care and put into a detention center childcare facility where his mother was sentenced for robbery for 12 yrs. Her rights were taken away then in 6 months he was put into an orphanage until we adopted him when he was 4 3/4 yrs old.

Are there any other families that had to deal with RAD?
We could use some ideas to help him attach to his family better.
